Physicists entangle 15 trillion hot atoms and got baffled

Quantum entanglement is the process by which microscopic materials, such as electrons or atoms, fall apart on their own and benefit from an interaction. Entanglement is the foundation of quantum technology, which promises success in counting, communication, and hearing (eg, smell).

Tangle is famous for its simplicity. In general, a slight interference can eliminate the tangle. For this reason, quantum technologies now strive to separate microscopic systems that work together and generally operate at room temperature. By comparison, the ICFO team heated the atoms to 450K, which is millions of times hotter than most atoms used in quantum technology. Also, the individual atoms are not isolated. They collide every few seconds, and each collision sets the electric bends in a random direction.

The scientists used a laser to examine the magnets for hot, chaotic gases. Magnetization is caused by the spinning of electrons in atoms and provides a way to study the effects of collision and capture entanglement. What scientists have discovered is that many atoms are entangled. About 100 times more than before. They also see that the controversy is not local. Atoms that are not close to each other are affected. Between the two entangled atoms are thousands of other atoms, many of which are also entangled with other atoms in a large, hot, turbulent tangle.
